Greek Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias emphasized in an interview with Parapolitika that sweeping reforms in the Armed Forces are essential for national survival, driven by major geopolitical and technological shifts, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
He stated that outdated structures, such as numerous underused military camps, must give way to consolidation and increased staffing. “I am not intimidated by the political cost,” he said, expressing readiness to push ahead.
The reforms will include changes at all levels, with a focus on personnel benefits, such as salary increases and improved healthcare. On Ukraine, Dendias noted the war has shown that 21st-century military strength lies not in sheer weapon numbers but in integration, rapid response, and battlefield awareness.
