Denmark Backs Moldova’s EU Bid

During his visit to Denmark, Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi met with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who reaffirmed Denmark’s strong support for Moldova’s European integration. Rasmussen emphasized that Moldova has the "potential and determination" to overcome challenges on its path to joining the EU, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Popșoi expressed gratitude for Denmark’s consistent support, highlighting bilateral cooperation in economic, energy, and security sectors. He noted Denmark's upcoming EU Council presidency (starting July 1) as a crucial opportunity for advancing Moldova’s accession goals.

Denmark's recent opening of an embassy in Chișinău and its role in the NB8 format were also praised as signs of deepening ties and regional solidarity.

Popșoi also held discussions with Danish parliamentary committees and is set to speak at the Democracy Summit in Copenhagen, as well as meet with the Moldovan diaspora during his May 12–13 visit.
