Italian Jews launch appeal against 'Gaza ethnic cleansing'

Politics

Over 200 Italian Jews have launched an appeal published by Rome daily La Repubblica against an "ethnic cleansing" plan in Gaza, referring to President Donald Trump's proposal for a US takeover of the area, including a permanent displacement of Palestinians, CE Report quotes ANSA.

"Italian Jews say no to ethnic cleansing, Italy must not be an accomplice", said the appeal signed by over 200 people.

The appeal also said it opposes the violence practiced "by the Israeli government and settlers" in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The initiative is promoted by the "Jewish Anti-racist Laboratory and Never Indifferent" and by "Jewish Voices for Peace", two associations that campaign "for fair peace in the Middle East".
