Three-day funeral in Tehran for killed Ali Khamenei
A three-day funeral ceremony will be held in Tehran for Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in U.S.-Israel attacks, the Iranian official news agency IRNA reported, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
According to Muhsin Mahmudi, Chairman of the Islamic Propagation Council, “A ceremony will be held tonight at the Imam Khomeini Mosque to bid farewell to the country’s leader, Khamenei.”
The Iranian official noted that the event will last for three days.
U.S.-Israel attacks on Iran
Israel and the U.S. launched military strikes on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between Tehran and Washington.
In response, Iran attacked targets in Israel and several regional countries hosting U.S. bases, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
The attacks by the U.S. and Israel killed Iranian leader Ali Khamenei along with several high-ranking officials.
The Iranian Red Crescent reported that 787 people were killed in the U.S.-Israel attacks.
