Romania and Moldova Sign Contracts for Four New Bridges Over Prut River

Representatives of Romania's National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) signed contracts in Chisinau on Friday for the design of four new bridges over the Prut River. The total contract value is 4.4 million lei (excluding VAT), announced CNAIR General Director Cristian Pistol, CE Report quotes Agerpres

The bridges will connect Stanca (Romania) – Costesti (Moldova), Bumbata – Leova, Falciu – Leca, and Raducaneni – Barbaceni. The feasibility studies, awarded to Like Consulting, will take 12 months, with each contract valued at 1.1 million lei. Funding is provided by the Romanian state budget.

Once built, the bridges will enhance transport capacity, improve Moldova's connectivity with Romania and the EU, and strengthen economic ties. The signing ceremony was attended by Romanian Secretary of State Irinel Scriosteanu and Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
