Zelensky Assassination Plots Foiled

Poland

Ukrainian security services thwarted two assassination attempts on President Volodymyr Zelensky, including a plot at Poland’s Rzeszow airport, according to Ukraine’s SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk, CE Report quotes PAP

Malyuk revealed that the plan at Rzeszow, considered in 2024, involved either an FPV drone or a sniper and was to be carried out by a retired Polish soldier recruited years ago.

Polish Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed the plot was uncovered in April 2024 when Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) arrested a Polish citizen attempting to contact Russian intelligence. The suspect, identified as Pawel K., was charged on May 19, 2025.

Polish President Andrzej Duda later emphasized that no attack occurred, crediting Polish authorities’ preventive measures.
