Large industrial fire near Warsaw
Firefighting operations in Bramki (Masovian Voivodeship, Poland) may continue until midday, where a production plant hall used for drying vegetables caught fire on the night from Monday to Tuesday, PAP reported, citing Junior Capt. Damian Dolniak from the County State Fire Service Headquarters in Warsaw West.
As media reported, two halls and an office and social facility were burned down overnight.
In total, the fire affected 23,000 square meters of space, CE Report informs via PAP.
According to the fire service, specialist measurements did not detect any dangerous substances in the air.
In an interview with PAP, Junior Capt. Damian Dolniak said that firefighting operations may last until midday due to the scale of the fire and the large amount of material that burned inside.
He stressed that it is still too early to determine the possible cause of the fire.
“We are currently focusing on demolition work and extinguishing hotspots,” he noted.
Media reports indicate that the destroyed facility mainly produced dried vegetables, and also offered fruit products. Around 250 firefighters are reportedly working at the scene.
