
High Turnout in Polish Presidential Runoff
The highest voter turnout in Poland’s presidential runoff was reported in Mazowieckie province at 58.51% by 5pm, while the lowest was in Opolskie province at 48.05%.
Voting began at 7:00am and ends at 9:00pm local time. Poles are choosing between Warsaw mayor Rafal Trzaskowski of the ruling Civic Coalition and Karol Nawrocki from the opposition Law and Justice party, CE Report quotes PAP
Over 28 million citizens can cast their ballots at more than 32,000 polling stations, including 511 abroad and five on ships.
Election silence remains in force until voting ends. Exit-poll results will be available soon after, and the PKW will hold a final press conference at 10pm, with preliminary results expected on Monday.
For comparison, turnout during the 2020 runoff reached 52.1% by 5pm.
