Moldova to Launch National Atlas Project
Moldova will soon have a National Atlas—an official cartographic document featuring geographic, economic, social, and historical data. The parliament approved a draft law initiating the project, developed by the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography, and Cadastre, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
The law also expands the agency’s powers, allowing it to appraise both movable and immovable assets. Appraisers will now need to undergo professional training every five years, with their work subject to review by a verification council.
The bill introduces "cadastral work" as a formal concept, requiring engineers to hold five-year competence certificates and participate in ongoing training. It also grants the National Technical Supervision Inspectorate control over cadastral activities, outlines who can perform them, and streamlines the registration of public agricultural land.
The draft will undergo a second reading before final approval.
