Sweden’s Minister for European Affairs, Jessica Rosencrantz, called EU membership "one of the best decisions a country can make" during her visit to Chisinau. Speaking alongside Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov, Rosencrantz praised Moldova’s progress and resilience on its path to the European Union, highlighting Sweden’s own success since joining the bloc, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The officials discussed Moldova's European integration efforts, democratic reforms, and Sweden’s continued support in strengthening institutional capacity. Rosencrantz emphasized the benefits Moldova is already seeing—enhanced market access, reduced trade barriers, and easier travel to the EU.

Her visit underscores Sweden’s ongoing commitment to Moldova’s European future. On May 7, Rosencrantz and Gherasimov will visit Ialoveni district for Europe Day events and the EuroQuiz 2025 finals.
