Greek parliament ratifies concession for mega-yacht port on Corfu
A concession for the construction of a tourist port for mega-yachts on Corfu was ratified by the plenary of the Greek Parliament.
The signing parties include, on one side, the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF - which was succeeded by Greece's Superfund) and the Corfu Port Authority, and on the other, Lamda Corfu Marina Single-Member Limited Liability Company for the Development and Utilization of Corfu Marina and Lamda Marinas Single-Member Public Limited Company for the Participation and Development of Tourist Ports.
The only party to vote for it was ruling New Democracy. PASOK voted 'present'. SYRIZA, the Communist Party, Nea Aristera, Elliniki Lysi, Niki and Plefsi Eleftherias voted against it, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
Included in the concession is the construction, operation, management, maintenance and exploitation of the mega-yacht marina. The value of the transaction comes in two parts - a one-time payment of 9.7 million euros, and a 7.7% payment on Lamda Marina's annual turnover. Its duration is 40 years.
