Selena Gomez has been sued by five investors in the mental health startup Wondermind, which was founded in 2021 by the actress and pop star alongside her mother, Mandy Teefey, and former business partner Daniella Pierson. All three are accused of offenses including fraud and breach of contract.

The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments, as well as damages and reimbursement of legal expenses, CE Report quotes ANSA.

According to CNN, the investors claim they were misled about the startup’s growth prospects and Gomez’s personal commitment to expanding the business.

The artist was listed as a “co-founder,” “chief impact officer” and head of marketing.

Wondermind, a multimedia platform, was created, according to its official website, “to offer users simple and practical ways to prioritize their mental well-being every day.”

In the lawsuit, the five investors say they invested 1.2 million dollars in 2022, “expecting Gomez to leverage her popularity and massive social media following to grow the company.”
