Eurovision tightens hosting rules
The Eurovision Song Contest announced today a change to its rules, stipulating that the winning country — which traditionally hosts the following edition — will no longer be able to do so if it is at war, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Under the new rules, “the winning broadcaster will not automatically host the Contest if an armed conflict, a sensitive geopolitical situation or any other situation materially affects the safety, security or stability of its state or immediate region,” the Eurovision organisers said in a statement.
