Princess Eugenie welcomes baby girl

Princess Eugenie and her husband, businessman Jack Brooksbank, have welcomed a baby girl, Buckingham Palace announced, bringing positive news for Eugenie's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, who have faced renewed scrutiny over their past associations with the late American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The newborn is the couple's third child, joining her older brothers, August, 5, and Ernest, 3. She becomes 15th in the line of succession to the British throne, CE Report quotes ANSA.

Ahead of Eugenie in the line of succession are her older sister, Princess Beatrice, 37, her husband, British-Italian property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and their two children.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3 August 2026, at 6:20 p.m. at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The Palace added that the baby weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces (just under 3 kilograms) at birth. "Their Majesties The King and Queen, along with other members of the Royal Family, have been informed and are delighted with the news."

Princess Eugenie and her husband have divided their time between London and Portugal for several years, where Brooksbank works in the real estate sector.

The baby's birth in Lisbon is notable, as unlike King Charles III's other grandchildren, she was not born in the United Kingdom. The overseas birth also comes after the indirect impact of the Epstein scandal on Prince Andrew's daughters, who have maintained a notably low public profile in recent years.
