Kim Kardashian reveals esophagitis diagnosis

Kim Kardashian has revealed that she has been diagnosed with esophagitis, a condition linked to the disease that her father, Robert Kardashian, died from in 2003.

In the trailer for the eighth season of The Kardashians, released on September 17, the reality TV star said she has something called esophagitis, E! News reports.

Esophagitis is swelling and irritation of the tissues lining the esophagus. If left untreated, it can develop into a condition called Barrett’s esophagus, which increases the risk of esophageal cancer, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Kardashian’s father died of esophageal cancer in 2003 at the age of 59. According to his children, he died six or seven weeks after being diagnosed.

In 2019, the Kardashian family opened the Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health, a medical institution specializing in research and treatment of esophageal disorders.
