Bulgaria will host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027, Minister of Culture Evtim Miloshev said on Bulgarian National Television on Monday.

Bulgaria is due to host after Dara won the contest with Bangaranga, CE Report quotes BTA.

“I am confident that Bulgaria will do extremely well. We are talking about organizing the song contest itself, choosing a venue, security, logistics, marketing and advertising. Bulgaria’s hosting of Eurovision will be at the level of Austria’s,” Miloshev said. He added that hosting the contest is a fine opportunity to give visibility to Bulgaria and its culture on the European and global stage.

On Bulgarian National Television, Miloshev also commented on the wish of Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas to host Eurovision next year.

“The capital and the opportunities Sofia offers are unquestionably leading. But what happened on Sunday, with the three big cities, Burgas, Plovdiv and Varna, making a serious and ambitious statement of interest, is a good sign,” Miloshev said.

The most reasonable approach, as in any such process, is to consider all options and then make the final decision, he added.

Miloshev noted that the entire organization goes through BNT, which is hosting the forum.

“The State’s commitment is to set up the organization and ensure very clearly allocated responsibilities between the State institutions and the structures involved,” Miloshev said.

BNT Director General Milena Milotinova will visit the Ministry of Culture on Monday for initial talks related to hosting the music forum, he said.

Miloshev noted that in the coming days he will present specific plans and goals in his work as tourism minister.
