Taylor Swift moves to trademark her voice amid AI content boom
Taylor Swift has filed applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to have her voice recognized as a registered trademark.
This move is similar to that of actor Matthew McConaughey, amid the rise of AI-generated content, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
The famous singer submitted two audio samples to the USPTO. Each begins with the phrase “Hey, it’s Taylor” and announces the release of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl (released in early October).
Another document submitted to the USPTO, first reported by intellectual property lawyer Josh Gerben, is a photograph of the artist performing on stage.
The filings do not provide further details about the application.
Contacted by Agence France-Presse, Taylor Swift’s press representative declined to comment for now.
