Duffy to break silence in new Disney+ documentary
Duffy, the Welsh singer-songwriter who achieved major success with the song Mercy in 2008 and later withdrew from the public eye, is set to tell her story in a new documentary on Disney+.
The announcement was made at the Series Mania in Lille by Disney+ content chief Angela Jain during her speech, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
According to Variety, in 2020 the artist revealed in a social media post that she had stepped away from music in 2011 after being the victim of a kidnapping and sexual assault.
Duffy “disappeared from the face of the earth and hasn’t really spoken about what happened during that period, apart from a social media post about five or six years ago,” Jain noted.
She described the Hulu Original-produced documentary as a “really powerful project.”
