Lidia Poet returns for final season on Netflix
“If we keep fighting, sooner or later something will change.”
Italy’s most irreverent and brilliant lawyer is about to return with the final chapter: the six episodes of the third and final season of “The Law According to Lidia Poët” will be available exclusively on Netflix starting April 15, CE Report quotes ANSA.
In the newly released official trailer, we once again see Matilda De Angelis in the lead role of the series, produced by Matteo Rovere for Groenlandia, part of the Banijay Group, and created by Guido Iuculano and Davide Orsini.
Returning to the cast are Eduardo Scarpetta as journalist Jacopo Barberis, Pier Luigi Pasino as Enrico Poët, Sara Lazzaro as Enrico’s wife, and Gianmarco Saurino as Pierluigi Fourneau. Joining the final season are Liliana Bottone and Ninni Bruschetta, playing Grazia Fontana and Prosecutor Cantamessa.
The series is again directed by Letizia Lamartire and Pippo Mezzapesa, alongside Jacopo Bonvicini.
Set in April 1887, Enrico has become a member of parliament and travels frequently between Rome and Turin with Teresa, managing to bring Lidia’s law before a commission. Lidia is impatient but trusts her brother while continuing her relationship with Fourneau, though she refuses to commit, marry, or make it public.
Fourneau has been promoted to the Court of Assizes, where his major test is prosecuting a woman accused of killing her husband. The problem? The accused is Lidia’s closest friend, Grazia Fontana. Her trial for self-defense will shake public opinion—and their relationships.
Meanwhile, Jacopo returns to Turin with his new partner but decides to stay to cover what becomes the most controversial and widely followed trial of the time, placing Lidia and Fourneau on opposing sides.
Proving that an abused wife acted in self-defense is a monumental challenge—perfect for Lidia. Will she convince an all-male jury to acquit Grazia Fontana by arguing that the real crime is the violence she endured?
And in her personal life, will she continue believing Fourneau is the right man for her, or finally embrace her feelings for Jacopo? Can the balance between genders ever be restored? And if politics fails and society resists, can change at least begin in one’s own life?
The Law According to Lidia Poët once again ignites hope.
