Anne Hathaway marks 25th anniversary of breakthrough Disney role

Anne Hathaway has celebrated the 25th anniversary of her breakthrough role in The Princess Diaries, describing it as "one of the most magical things that has ever happened to me."

The American actress starred as Mia Thermopolis in Disney's 2001 coming-of-age film, which follows Mia as she discovers that she is the heir to the throne of the fictional kingdom of Genovia, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

In an Instagram post accompanied by behind-the-scenes footage from the film, Hathaway wrote:

"Twenty-five years later, it is still one of the most magical things that has ever happened to me. Thank you all for loving The Princess Diaries as much as I do — I am forever grateful to my family."
