Europe hosts major Spring festivals
The Anilogue International Animation Festival, held every year in Budapest, Hungary, will take place from March 25–29. The festival will feature feature film premieres, previews, workshops, and a European animated short film competition. It will also host a seven-hour animation screening, along with concerts and cartoon exhibitions as part of a rich special program.
In Graz, Austria, the third edition of the DIGITHALIA – Graz Virtual Theatre Forms Festival, which combines theatre and digital art, will welcome participants from March 25–28, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
The Cinedans FEST will be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from March 25–29. The festival will present an international program that blends the beauty of dance with the power of film, featuring short, feature-length, and documentary dance films.
The European Music Festival, founded in 2001 in Bulgaria and organized annually by the Cantus Firmus music agency, will begin its 26th edition in Sofia on March 26 and run until June 5. This year’s program includes leading Bulgarian and international classical musicians.
In Rotterdam, Netherlands, works by contemporary artists will be exhibited at Art Rotterdam from March 27–29.
Concerts
One of Europe’s prestigious classical music events, the Aix-en-Provence Easter Festival, will take place in France from March 28 to April 12. This year, the resident orchestra will be the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Lahav Shani.
Ukrainian singer Svitlana Loboda will perform on March 25 in Stockholm, March 28 in Bratislava, and March 29 in Ostrava.
Georgian-born Russian singer-songwriter Valery Meladze will perform on March 30 at the Poznan Congress Center in Poland as part of his European tour.
Regular classical music performances continue this week at Vienna’s world-famous Musikverein, in both the Golden Hall and the Brahms Hall.
World-renowned film composer Hans Zimmer will perform as part of his “The Next Level” European tour in Lyon (March 24), Valencia (March 26), Barcelona (March 27), and Madrid (March 29).
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform on March 27 in Antwerp, Belgium, and March 29 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana will perform in Ireland on March 28 as part of the “Return to the Roots” tour.
Australian hard rock band Airbourne will meet fans in Belgium on March 29.
Films
Among the films premiering this week in the United States are the horror-comedy “Forbidden Fruits” and the horror film “They Will Kill You.”
Science fiction fans may also be drawn to “Project Hail Mary,” along with “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” “Reminders of Him,” and “Hoppers.”
