An Energy and Technology Forum between North Macedonia and the Czech Republic was held in Skopje on Wednesday, organized by the Czech Embassy. Participants included First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Izet Mexhiti and Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska, CE Report quotes MIA.

According to Mexhiti, the occasion for today's forum is strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as promotion of technologies and systems for mining and energy production.

"Your presence today is confirmation that the Republic of North Macedonia is on the map of countries with serious potential for development and investment in the mining and energy sectors. Mining and energy production are not only economic sectors, they are the foundation of industrial and technological development, but today more than ever they must keep pace with modern challenges, energy transition, environmental protection and digitalization," said Mexhiti.

Green transition is not just an energy process, Mexhiti noted, but a key environmental and development step for the future.

"As a Ministry, our task is to integrate innovation and technological solutions with sustainable physical planning and international cooperation. With this strategy, we create a healthy, resilient and competitive environment that will ensure a better future for future generations," Mexhiti said.

The event, he added, represents an important platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences and new forms of cooperation between institutions, businesses and experts from the two countries. He said that the delegation of Czech businesspeople has European examples of how to invest in energy, taking into account how to protect the environment because they have experience from the past and know the region and its energy sector.
