Sofia to host Minerals, Gems and Fossils Fair

The Museum of Earth and Man in Sofia announced Thursday that it will host its traditional Minerals, Gems and Fossils Fair from October 9 to 11. This will be the third such fair held at the museum this year.

The fair brings together collectors, producers, universities and vendors. There gem enthusiasts will find minerals mined in Bulgaria and abroad, including exotic minerals, some of which are outstanding specimens from world-famous and newly discovered deposits around the globe, CE Report quotes BTA.

The first international gem fair in Sofia was held in 1991 and was hosted by the same museum. Over the years, the event expanded to three editions a year, held around Christmas, Easter and in October.

The Christmas gem show this year will be held December 4-6.
