Mikey Madison to star in Charlie Polinger’s next film

Charlie Polinger made a strong impression at the 78th Cannes Film Festival with his directorial debut, The Plague, a visually daring and thematically uncompromising exploration of the psychological torment of teenage bullying.

Now, the director, in collaboration with A24, is preparing his next film, a dark adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story The Masque of the Red Death, starring Mikey Madison, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

The Oscar-nominated actress recently completed her role in Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning.

In statements to GoldDerby, the director and screenwriter revealed that the film is already in pre-production, with filming scheduled to begin in February.

“At the moment, I’m in Budapest… scouting locations, as filming will start from here in February. I’m not sure how much I can reveal, but it will be with A24, and yes, Mikey Madison will play the lead role,” he said.
