Embarrassed American hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs criticized a new Netflix documentary series about himself as a “shameful hit” that used “stolen footage never authorized for release,” CNN reports.

According to Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, the media said that Combs—who was convicted this summer on charges related to prostitution—had been filming himself for “decades” for a potential documentary, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The footage seen in Netflix’s new series was reportedly filmed just days before his arrest in September 2024, Engelmayer added.

“We need to find someone who has worked with us, who has been in the dirtiest businesses,” says Diddy, now 56, at the beginning of the trailer for Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

Diddy’s lawyers have issued a cease-and-desist letter to Netflix, demanding that the documentary series not be released.

The Netflix series, produced by his early rival, rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, promises to reveal “shocking allegations” about Diddy and his empire, Bad Boy Records, according to the show’s description.

After being convicted in July for transporting for prostitution purposes, Diddy was sentenced to four years and two months in prison.
