Romania, Moldova launch national contest for top tourist destinations

The public is invited to nominate the most beautiful places and tourist experiences in the country.

The national competition, organized by the National Tourism Office with the support of the Ministry of Culture, is taking place simultaneously in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The event aims to highlight destinations that inspire, connect communities, and attract visitors through authenticity and hospitality. Until January 15, 2026, anyone can propose their favorite destinations from either Moldova or Romania.

This year, the competition includes eight categories reflecting the diversity and tourism potential of the region:

Inspiring cities – municipalities known for visibility, development, and tourism promotion.

Spa and tourist resorts – year-round destinations of local or national interest.

Enchanted lands – natural or historical areas that celebrate local traditions.

Storybook villages – rural communities offering authentic experiences and traditional hospitality.

Play and adrenaline – attractions focused on recreational and sports activities.
Sanctuaries of history – sites of historical, cultural, or spiritual heritage.

The land of knowledge – institutions and tourist sites with educational value.

Best promotion – destinations recognized for innovative promotional actions and campaigns.

The public is encouraged to nominate the most outstanding destinations and experiences in the Republic of Moldova by completing the online form available on the official website.

Destinations that have won in the last two editions cannot be nominated again. The full rules are available at destinatiaanului.ro.
