Movie star Charlize Theron turns 50 today and couldn’t be happier, CE Report quotes ATA.

“I told my mom I was really looking forward to this day, and she told me I’d feel even better when I turn 70!” the Hollywood actress said.

“I definitely feel lucky and blessed with great genes. I think I’ll be just fine from now on,” she added.

Her mother was a fan of Chuck Norris and Charles Bronson movies, while her father loved the Mad Max films.

Gerda and Charles Jacobus Theron had Charlize as their only child in Benoni, South Africa, and raised her on the family farm outside the city.

Enrolled in dance classes from a young age, Charlize began her career as a ballerina.

She initially sought work in Europe and then New York.

It was her mother Gerda who bought her the first ticket to Los Angeles.

“As a child, I mostly watched action movies. Later, I added some dramas like ‘Kramer vs Kramer’,” she said.

Thus was born a star without gender stereotypes, capable of being intense and destructive, ironic and sensual.

Fame came in 1997 with “Devil’s Advocate,” in which she played the naive wife of Keanu Reeves, a lawyer intern in the law firm of the devil, Al Pacino.

In 1999, she played Paul Rudd’s beautiful girlfriend, Candy, in “The Cider House Rules,” and then a cancer patient in “Sweet November,” again with Reeves.

Her breakthrough came in 2004 with “Monster,” where she portrayed a prostitute turned serial killer after years of abuse and violence.

For this role, she did not hesitate to radically transform her face, winning the Oscar for Best Actress.

Challenging roles followed, such as “North Country” (2005), where she played a financially struggling woman enduring workplace harassment, and “Bombshell” (2019), about the sexual harassment case involving Roger Ailes, the powerful CEO of Fox News.

Charlize Theron is a UN ambassador fighting violence against women.

Meanwhile, Theron also earned the title of queen of action movies with roles in “Fury Road” (2015), “Atomic Blonde” (2017), “Fast & Furious,” and “The Old Guard.”
