Inter eyes Jadon Sancho after Ademola Lookman block
Inter officials are prepared to explore other options in the transfer market if negotiations for Ademola Lookman ultimately break down, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Currently, Inter and Atalanta are at a complete impasse. The Nigerian forward, who has already left Bergamo while Jurić’s team plays a friendly against Monza today, has made it clear he wants to move to Milan. Inter president Beppe Marotta would gladly place him under the guidance of coach Cristian Chivu. However, Atalanta president Antonio Percassi remains firm—he is unwilling to sell the player to another Italian club at the current figures.
Inter's latest offer of 42 million euros plus 3 million euros in bonuses was rejected. According to Italian media, with Oaktree’s approval, Inter are considering increasing the offer closer to €50 million, with a fixed base of 45 million euros, plus bonuses and possibly including a young player in the deal.
Other Options on the Table
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are also exploring other winger options. Initially, Chelsea’s French forward Christopher Nkunku was mentioned, but the candidate gaining more traction is Jadon Sancho. The Englishman, born in 2000, is under contract with Manchester United until next summer and is valued at around 25 euros million—significantly lower than both Lookman and Nkunku.
Besides his age and technical qualities, Sancho’s lower price tag would make it easier for Inter to accommodate his salary, which does not benefit from Italy's "Growth Decree" tax break. This summer, Sancho has also been linked to Juventus and Napoli, increasing competition for his signature.
