Former girlfriend opposes release of Epstein grand jury records
Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend and accomplice of the late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, has asked a federal judge in Manhattan to deny the government's request to release grand jury investigation transcripts related to the two, CE Report quotes ANSA.
"Jeffrey Epstein is dead, Ghislaine Maxwell is not," her attorneys wrote.
"Whatever public interest may exist in Epstein, such interest cannot justify a broad intrusion into the secrecy of grand jury investigations in a case where the defendant is alive, her legal options remain open, and her right to a fair trial still stands," they emphasized.
