With support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Tome Trajkov, program coordinator of the Comic Center of North Macedonia – Veles, also participated in the festival. He held a one-hour presentation on the Macedonian comic scene and took part in a group panel discussion on the topic "Challenges of Comic Publishing in the Region."
According to Trajkov, the North Macedonian comic magazine "Strip Kreator" was shortlisted in the comic magazines category, alongside publications such as OHOHOzine, Strip Prefix, and Iracionalist from Croatia, Ras Comic from Serbia, and Vintart and Virgina from Montenegro.
Trajkov emphasized that the Supertoon festival places a specific focus on comic editions, covering various categories from comic magazines to books and fanzines.
“In the coming years, I will work to ensure even greater participation of Macedonian publishers, as this represents an important step toward increasing the visibility of Macedonian comics on the European map,” announced Trajkov.
He also noted that a few days earlier, from July 18 to 22, Jošanička Banja hosted the 13th International Comic Colony “Raška 2025”, which again brought together numerous comic artists, lecturers, and young talents from Serbia and the region.
Representing the North Macedonian comic community at this prestigious colony were authors Slavica Kupenkova, Evgenija Trajkoska, Anastasija Nedeljkovska, Igor Popovski, Ivan Mihajlovski, and Jasmina Jovčevska.
Tome Trajkov explained that at the colony, he served as the operational coordinator of the project "All We Are Saying Is: Give Peace a Chance!"
Participants came from comic schools in Belgrade, Vranje, Leposavić, Veles, Tirana, and Raška, and over five days of a rich program, visitors enjoyed exhibitions, promotions, workshops, and live drawing sessions.
Additionally, participants worked on new comics that will be published in the comic magazine Ras Comic.
Among other events, the Gallery of the Cultural Center “Gradac” in Raška hosted an exhibition of works created within the international project "All We Are Saying Is: Give Peace a Chance!"
Alongside the exhibitions and promotions, the Raška comic colony also featured illustration workshops led by Vladimir Vesović and lectures by renowned authors Boban Savić Geto and Darko Stojanović.
