
Opera Returns to Ancient Thracian Sanctuary
The seaside town of Primorsko and the nearby Thracian rock sanctuary Beglik Tash will once again host the “Opera on the Sanctuary” Festival, now in its sixth edition. The event opens on Saturday, July 26, with Camille Saint-Saëns’ Samson and Delilah, performed under the stars on an open-air stage amid ancient megaliths, CE Report quotes BTA
Directed by Alexander Tekeliev and conducted by Grigor Palikarov, the production will feature a 3D-mapped visual experience created by Nikola Peshev. The festival is a joint effort between the Municipality of Primorsko and the Burgas State Opera.
Primorsko Mayor Ivan Gaikov called the event “a unique blend of history and modern art,” reinforcing the town’s cultural profile on the European map.
The festival continues through August with Verdi’s classics: Il Trovatore (Aug 2), Rigoletto (Aug 9), Aida (Aug 16), and Nabucco (Aug 23).
Tickets are available at the Burgas State Opera, the “Clock” ticket booth, and online via Grabo and Eventim.
