U.S. Department of State highlights cooperation priorities with Moldova - EXCLUSIVE

CE Report Media Outlet requested clarifications from the U.S. Department of State on several key points regarding the state and future of Moldova-U.S. relations.

In an exclusive interview with CE Report, a spokesperson from the U.S. Department of State emphasized the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

According to the official comments, the United States continues to prioritize joint efforts aimed at securing borders and expanding trade and economic ties with Moldova.

While no new announcements or strategic initiatives were disclosed at this time, the statement highlights the ongoing commitment of the U.S. to support Moldova’s development and regional stability.

This response underlines that despite the lack of immediate updates, the bilateral relationship remains a significant area of focus for both sides amid the broader regional context.

On July 17, 2025, Moldova’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi held a meeting with Kevin Covert, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States in the Republic of Moldova.

Vice Prime Minister Popșoi expressed Moldova’s openness to further strengthening bilateral relations with the United States. The discussions focused on the ongoing development of a durable Moldovan-American partnership, deepening sectoral cooperation, and harnessing the potential for bilateral collaboration.

During the meeting, Mihai Popșoi expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by the United States and emphasized the importance of projects implemented with the assistance of American partners, which bring direct benefits to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

In turn, Kevin Covert reiterated the firm commitment of the United States to support Moldova’s European path and the continuation of democratic reforms.
