Renowned Greek photographer John Demos will open his Panigiria exhibition on July 31 at the Synthesis Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria. The exhibition features over 50 black-and-white photographs capturing traditional Greek festivals in the mountain villages of Zagori, created between the mid-1970s and early 1990s, CE Report quotes BTA

The series, previously shown at major festivals including Rencontres d'Arles and The Photographer’s Gallery in London, was specially curated for the Sofia show and printed using piezography under Demos' supervision.

In early October, Demos will return to Sofia to present a portfolio of hand-printed photogravures from France and a selection of photobooks from his Apeiron publishing house. The exhibition runs until October 11 and marks his fourth appearance at the Synthesis Gallery.
