
Bulgaria at UNESCO
At the opening of the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Paris, chaired by Bulgaria, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev presented the July issue of the agency’s LIK magazine to UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. The edition, titled “Bulgaria in UNESCO”, highlights Bulgaria’s cultural and natural heritage and is published in Bulgarian, French, and English, CE Report quotes BTA
Bulgaria’s Culture Minister Marian Bachev also handed a copy of the magazine to UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Culture, Ernesto Ottone, during a protocol meeting. All delegates received the special edition.
The session, held at UNESCO headquarters until July 16, will feature Bulgaria’s heritage contributions. Bulgaria joined UNESCO in 1956, the same year it established its National Commission for UNESCO.
