Art Exhibition Celebrates Bulgaria-Israel Friendship

National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova opened the Israel in Sapphire and Gold: A Tale of Two Cities exhibition in Sofia, marking 35 years since the restoration of diplomatic ties between Bulgaria and Israel. Curated by Olympia Nikolova-Daniel, the exhibition features works by Jewish artist Zoe Sever, displayed at Sredets Gallery, CE Report quotes BTA

“You present Israel as we want to see it,” Kiselova said, emphasizing the exhibition as a symbol of enduring friendship. The event was attended by Israel’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Yosef Levi Sfari, Deputy Culture Minister Todor Chobanov, and members of the diplomatic and Jewish communities.

Sever, born in Lviv and now based in Israel, is a graduate of Jerusalem’s Bezalel Academy, founded by Bulgarian artist Boris Schatz. She has exhibited internationally and has recently supported humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
