For the first time, Veliko Tarnovo Deputy Mayor Georgi Nedev will dress as Santa Claus to lead a festive procession of hundreds of motorcyclists from across Bulgaria. The event, part of the annual Moto Christmas initiative, will take place on December 25, culminating in the nearby town of Debelets with a concert featuring talented local children, CE Report quotes BTA

The Moto Christmas tradition began in 2012 and has become increasingly focused on charity since Nedev joined eight years ago. Under his leadership, the event has expanded to include sleighs for Santa and Snow White, Christmas buses for children and adults, and additional activities such as Christmas Eve visits to families who contribute to the cause.

Last year, the procession first ended in Debelets, where a motorcycle show and catering were introduced—traditions that will continue this year. In 2022, the initiative drew 640 participants and raised a record amount for charity. Donations this year will support a new playground or equipment for children with disabilities.

To boost fundraising, a raffle will be held during the Debelets concert, with the grand prize being a Suzuki GSX 550E motorcycle donated anonymously by locals.

Deputy Mayor Nedev expressed pride in the growing support for Moto Christmas, which has inspired similar charity events across Bulgaria.
