Bosnian government approves major funding for sports infrastructure projects
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted, at a telephone session and upon the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, a Decision on the selection of beneficiaries of funds under the “Capital Transfers to Other Levels of Government and Funds – Construction, Adaptation and Reconstruction of Sports Infrastructure” programme, allocated to the ministry under the 2026 Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The decision provides for the allocation of BAM 30 million earmarked in the 2026 Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, based on the Decision establishing the criteria and allocation of funds from the 2026 Budget to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports under the economic code “Capital Transfers to Other Levels of Government and Funds – Construction, Adaptation and Reconstruction of Sports Infrastructure,” as well as the Public Call for Applications for the Financing and Co-financing of the Construction, Adaptation and Reconstruction of Sports Infrastructure of Importance to Cantons, Cities and Municipalities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The beneficiaries are required to open a separate transaction account within 15 days of the adoption of the Decision, to which the funds for the financing and co-financing of projects, requests and initiatives will be transferred, and to notify the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports accordingly.
The beneficiaries are also required to submit a final report on the use of the funds to the ministry no later than June 30, 2027, CE Report informs via the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's official website.
The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports will conclude individual agreements with the authorised representatives of the beneficiaries on the allocation and use of the funds, regulating the rights and obligations of the parties.
The decision will enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
