Bosnia launches BAM 43 million Hutovo-Ravno road project
The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Transport and Communications, Andrijana Katić, attended the signing of the contract for the construction of the Hutovo–Ravno section of the M17.6 main road, part of the Dračevo–Cerovica–Hutovo–Ravno route.
The section, nearly 16 kilometers long and passing through the municipalities of Ravno and Neum, has been contracted at a value of BAM 43,071,018.84, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's official website.
The contract was signed by Andrija Šimunović, Mayor of Ravno Municipality, and Dragan Jurković, Mayor of Neum Municipality, together with the contracted construction companies Putovi d.o.o. Grude and HP Investing d.o.o. Mostar, in accordance with the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia to provide financial assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina for improving transport connectivity and integration in the municipalities of Ravno and Neum.
The contract signing was also attended by Ljubo Pravdić, Director of the Public Enterprise Roads of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, alongside Minister Katić.
This infrastructure project will significantly improve transport connectivity and road safety while creating better conditions for economic development. The construction of the section will enhance the quality of road infrastructure, reduce travel times, and enable more efficient transportation of people and goods.
The signing of the contract officially marks the start of the project's implementation, with construction to be carried out in accordance with the agreed deadlines and the highest technical standards.
"This new road is of exceptional importance for the municipalities of Neum and Ravno. It will improve living conditions for the local population along the route, strengthen the transport connection between Neum and Ravno, and better link Ravno and parts of Neum Municipality with the interior of Herzegovina. Overall, this is a project that will improve transport conditions in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia," Minister Katić said.
The implementation of the project underscores the commitment to continuous investment in transport infrastructure as one of the key prerequisites for economic growth, attracting new investment, and improving the quality of life for residents of southern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
