A delegation of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), led by Governor Dr. Jasmina Selimović, met with a number of senior officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank during the Spring Meetings held in Washington.

Views were exchanged on current macroeconomic developments, strengthening financial and monetary stability, and enhancing cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and these two international financial institutions, CE Report informs via the CBBH's official website.

During meetings with IMF representatives, the CBBH delegation held talks with Bo Li, Deputy Managing Director. Governor Selimović presented her views on future economic trends in the context of increasingly pronounced geopolitical impacts on the global economy, while Li focused on the initiative to establish the SEETAC center in Rome and called for active participation from Bosnia and Herzegovina. IMF officials Bo Li, as well as Alfred Kammer, Director for Europe, and Executive Director Jeroen Clicq, emphasized that such a center would provide Western Balkan countries with access to technical assistance, training, and advisory support, significantly strengthening institutional capacities in the areas of monetary policy, financial stability, and supervision.

The CBBH delegation also discussed continued support for development projects and economic reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina with World Bank representatives, Executive Director Eugene Rhuggenaath and Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani.

Governor Selimović informed them about activities aimed at strengthening capacities and modernizing the financial sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the goal of joining SEPA. She highlighted the importance of the RAS advisory project, as well as other support provided by the World Bank to the country in this process.

In the coming days, the CBBH delegation will hold a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of central banks and participate in discussions on financial education, digital fraud, and other important topics.

The CBBH delegation includes Governor Dr. Jasmina Selimović, Vice Governor Dr. Emir Kurtić, and members of the Governing Board, Dr. Mirza Kršo and Dr. Darko Tomaš.
