Moldova seeks to ease tax and customs procedures for entrepreneurs

Fiscal budget policies and the simplification of procedures for entrepreneurs were discussed with business representatives during a public dialogue organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCI a RM), attended by Finance Minister Andrian Gavriliță, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

In his remarks, the Finance Minister highlighted the institution’s priorities, focusing mainly on simplifying administrative and fiscal procedures and strengthening dialogue with the business community.

The discussions addressed topics relevant to the start of the year, particularly recent changes in fiscal policy of high interest to economic operators. Emphasis was also placed on identifying concrete solutions to stimulate business and analyzing proposals previously submitted to the Ministry of Finance, which remain relevant.

Key topics included:

Deductibility of certain employee-related expenses

Customs guarantees applicable to the active processing regime

Application of reduced VAT rates for certain imported food products

Taxation regime for e-commerce

Determination of customs value

Customs duty rates on imported raw materials

The need to clarify issues related to tax inspections was also reiterated, to avoid inconsistent interpretations and additional risks for businesses.

“Over the years, CCI has consistently put forward concrete proposals to adjust the Fiscal Code and Customs Code, aiming to create a more efficient and competitive economic framework. Open dialogue with authorities remains essential for identifying balanced solutions,” said Sergiu Harea, President of CCI a RM.

The event was attended by more than 80 business representatives, members of CCI, both in person and online, from across the country. Economic operators presented concrete cases and proposals for simplifying administrative processes. These proposals will be compiled by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova and forwarded to the Ministry of Finance and other competent authorities for review.
