Moldova invites Liechtenstein companies to invest at Davos Forum
Companies from Liechtenstein have been invited to invest in the Republic of Moldova.
The invitation was extended by Prime Minister of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu, who met with Liechtenstein’s Prime Minister Brigitte Haas on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that the Republic of Moldova has talented people, a skilled workforce, sectors with strong development potential, and increasingly competitive entrepreneurs, creating the conditions for sustainable bilateral partnerships.
“We have invited companies from Liechtenstein to invest in the Republic of Moldova. We have talented people, a qualified workforce, sectors with great development potential, and increasingly competitive entrepreneurs. These conditions allow us to build a sustainable economic partnership for the benefit of both sides,” Munteanu said.
The prime minister added that relations between Moldova and Liechtenstein are developing positively and that authorities aim to explore opportunities to expand partnerships.
“Relations between Moldova and Liechtenstein are on a positive trajectory. I discussed with Prime Minister Brigitte Haas how we can fully capitalize on the opportunities offered by the Free Trade Agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), which entered into force in April 2025,” Munteanu noted.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Brigitte Haas praised the efforts of Moldovan authorities to ensure the integrity of last autumn’s parliamentary elections and to combat disinformation, as well as the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in its European integration process.
In June 2023, the Republic of Moldova signed a historic free trade agreement with EFTA countries (Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein). Over the following two years, the agreement was ratified by all signatory states and entered into force on April 1, 2025, allowing Moldovan entrepreneurs to export to all EFTA member states duty-free or with reduced tariffs. This represents another important step toward international economic integration.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Principality of Liechtenstein were established on August 14, 2001.
