In Bulgaria, services production slowed to 0.7% in June month-on-month, down from 1.2% in May, Eurostat reported on Friday. On an annual basis, the sector grew by 2.9% in June compared to 2.5% in May, CE Report quotes BTA.

In the European Union and the euro area, services production edged down in June, according to Eurostat’s first estimates. Seasonally adjusted data show a 0.1% decline compared to May.

On an annual basis, the sector continues to expand. Compared with June 2024, services production increased by 3.3% in the EU and by 2.9% in the euro area.

Among Member States for which data are available, the largest monthly decreases were recorded in Luxembourg (-11.8%), Denmark (-2.8%) and Latvia (-1.2%). The highest increases were observed in Greece (+2.8%), Estonia (+2.3%) and Poland (+1.3%).

In June 2025, compared with June 2024, among Member States for which data are available, the highest annual increases were recorded in Greece (+24.0%), Denmark (+15.2%) and Estonia (+9.9%). The largest decreases were observed in Luxembourg (-41.7%), Malta (-3.2%) and Austria (-1.1%).

Eurostat’s index of services production measures the monthly changes in the production volume of the services industries, excluding financial and public services.
