Emirates continues to deepen its investment in the Greek market, having served over 4.5 million passengers since launching operations in 1996, according to Area Manager for Greece and Albania Ibrahim Ghanim. In an interview with ANA-MPA, Ghanim highlighted the airline’s role as the first to directly connect Athens and Dubai, and since 2017, the only airline offering daily direct flights between Greece and the U.S, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

From June 1 to October 25, Emirates will add an extra daily Athens-Dubai flight and continue daily service to Newark. The airline also remains committed to Greece year-round, maintaining operations even during the pandemic.

Ghanim noted Emirates' strong connections with key Greek travel markets including the UAE, Europe, Asia, and North America. Top destinations for Greek travelers include New York and Dubai.

The airline has also expanded its cargo services, transporting over 12,000 tons in 2024 alone, with a growing share of perishable goods like sea bass and sea bream exported to New York. Emirates collaborates with local carriers Aegean and Sky Express and signed a cooperation deal with the Greek National Tourism Organization at ITB Berlin 2024.
