Alexandroupolis LNG Terminal Set to Reopen in May

Business

The Alexandroupolis LNG terminal is expected to resume operations in May after being closed due to technical issues in late January. Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov stated that investigations are underway to determine whether the problem is technical or related to the pumps' manufacturing. This came in response to a question by Radoslav Ribarski from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria about the suspension of natural gas deliveries, which led to redirected deliveries to a Turkish terminal under Bulgaria's agreement with Botas, CE Report quotes BTA

Stankov assured that Bulgaria acted swiftly to secure the necessary natural gas supplies for domestic use. He also highlighted that costs related to the redirection will be invoiced and covered through Bulgargaz, ensuring that Bulgaria will not incur losses.
