Bulgarian President Highlights Business Voice and Economic Growth at BICA Anniversary

In a speech marking the 28th anniversary of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA), President Rumen Radev emphasized the importance of business leadership during times of crisis and political instability. Speaking at the event, Radev awarded BICA the President's Badge of Honour for its significant contributions to sustainable economic development and collaboration with state institutions. President Radev commended BICA for its efforts to enhance Bulgaria's regulatory environment, foster competitiveness, and build connections between business, education, and state institutions. He highlighted the association’s role in improving the Bulgarian economy, which has grown by 2.4% this year—outpacing the European average of 1%.

Radev also praised BICA's cooperation with European institutions, helping to integrate modern practices into Bulgaria’s socio-economic landscape. Reflecting on his recent visit to Singapore, Radev pointed to the city-state as an example of how strategic investment in education and effective governance can drive economic success. He encouraged BICA to continue its work in transforming Bulgaria’s economic model to fully utilize its potential.

Established in 1996, BICA represents over 10,000 companies employing nearly 500,000 people, solidifying its position as a key advocate for industry and business in Bulgaria.
