Unity Honoured in Armed Forces Day Ceremony

On May 6, Bulgaria marked the Day of Valour and Armed Forces Day with a blessing ceremony for military flags and sacred banners at St. Alexander Nevsky Square, by the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, CE Report quotes BTA

President and Commander-in-Chief Rumen Radev led the event, receiving the guard of honour. Key officials including National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, and Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev were also in attendance.

The blessing was delivered by Bishop Isaac of Velbazhd, who conveyed a message from Patriarch Daniil, highlighting faith and unity as Bulgaria's enduring strengths.

Following the blessing, President Radev laid a wreath at the monument, joined by other dignitaries. The ceremony concluded with a military march and a display by the National Guard's colour guard and representative formations.
