Zhelyazkov Demands BG-ALERT Fix in 10 Days

Bulgaria

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov has given a 10-day deadline to improve Bulgaria’s BG-ALERT early warning system, warning there will be "no excuses" afterward. Speaking at Wednesday’s cabinet meeting, Zhelyazkov criticized the system's failure during recent events, despite being publicly funded and fully developed, CE Report quotes BTA

He called on several ministries, municipal associations, and agencies to submit an action plan and propose regulatory changes if needed. Zhelyazkov stressed the importance of shared responsibility and integrated information systems, saying it is unacceptable for institutions to withhold data or lack trained personnel to operate the system.
