New Albanian Airport Set to Boost Southern Tourism
The Albanian government has approved the official opening of the border crossing point at Vlora International Airport (VIA), paving the way for international air traffic for domestic and foreign passengers through this new air port, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
This decision of July 16 comes as a continuation of the intensive preparations for the operationalization of the airport and follows the first certification flight carried out on May 8, 2025, a key moment that demonstrated its readiness to welcome international airlines.
Vlora Airport, one of the most strategic investments for the country's economic and tourist development, is expected to become an important entry point for Albania, especially for the southern region.
With an ideal location, less than an hour away from the most popular tourist destinations and coastal cities, it aims to attract thousands of visitors each year and encourage foreign direct investment, writes Atsh.
The opening of the border crossing is expected to turn Southern Albania into a true center of Mediterranean tourism.
