Tirana Castle has in recent years become the most visited attraction by foreign tourists, who are curious about the history, tradition, and culture of the capital, passed down through generations.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social media the impressions of several foreign tourists who have visited Tirana Castle, CE Report quotes ATA.

“Tirana Castle – a journey through history and urban life, reflected in the impressions of the tourists themselves, who are the mirror of touristic Albania,” Rama wrote.

“We are French and enjoying our time in Tirana. We arrived today and are very surprised by Tirana Castle, because in France we don’t have restaurants inside castles. We visit castles, but we don’t sit down to eat in them,” said a tourist from France.

A tourist from Canada said, “It’s very beautiful here, there’s a lot of energy and many things to do.”

Another tourist said, “We’ve been here for a day and a half. A friend of ours suggested we visit Tirana Castle. If you’re visiting Tirana, you have to come to the Castle. The atmosphere and the feeling here are wonderful.”

“We’re from Belgium and this is our first time in Albania. Tirana is a beautiful city, and I think the people are very kind. I see that tourism is developing. There are a lot of new buildings, and people are very friendly and welcoming,” said a Belgian tourist.

After the New Bazaar and Skanderbeg Square, Tirana Castle has become another key destination to visit in the capital. Since 2019, the castle has not only been restored and curated but has also become an accessible spot for citizens as well as local and foreign tourists, making the capital a colorful and vibrant setting.

It has been returned to the people as a space where the old blends with the new — serving both as a culinary destination for traditional Albanian cuisine and as a hub for craftsmanship, culture, and the arts.
