Apple unveils long-awaited Siri AI assistant
U.S. technology giant Apple unveiled Siri AI on Monday, a long-awaited version of its conversational assistant powered by Apple Intelligence, according to the DPA news agency.
The new assistant is immediately available for testing by developers and will be released in beta later this year, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.
Apple originally announced the enhanced version of Siri at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2024.
In May 2025, the iPhone maker said the software launch had been delayed.
Earlier this year, Apple agreed to a $250 million settlement in a U.S. lawsuit alleging that the company misled iPhone buyers regarding delays in its artificial intelligence updates. Under the settlement agreement, Apple did not admit any wrongdoing.
The upgraded version of Siri is designed to be particularly useful for users because it has access to their personal information and can operate across different applications on Apple devices.
Apple said that Siri AI has been rebuilt using the next generation of Apple Intelligence, combining on-device processing with Private Cloud Compute to deliver advanced reasoning capabilities while maintaining user privacy.
According to the company, the new Siri is “a much more capable and conversational assistant,” featuring the ability to understand personal context, possess broad knowledge of the world, and remain aware of what is happening on the user’s screen.
